A few great Paranormal Romances to check out

Since our move, I've found out that Paducah, KY has a really wonderful library. They don't have a huge, huge selection of paranormal romances, but they've got a wonderful children's floor that my kids love. The library in Paducah even has tv's with Playstation 2 games set up for children to play on. Needless to say, my kids really enjoy having a visit to the library here.

Because of our recent trips to the library, I've had the chance to read some really great paranormal romances lately. I generally purchase the books I read, but sometimes it's nice to be able to check them out for free.

Lately, I've read the first two releases in the Sign of Seven Trilogy by Nora Roberts. I haven't read a whole lot of books by her, but I did read the Circle Trilogy and LOVED it. I enjoy paranormal and supernatural romances so much anymore that regular ones don't hold my interest like they used to. I love the action and romantic combination.

The Sign of Seven Trilogy really reminds me of Stephen King's It, with a romantic twist to it. Basically, three friends shared a blood oath when they were ten that unleashes evil on their town every seven years. It all goes back to an event that happened hundreds of years before.

I started out with the second book in the the trilogy called "The Hollow" and now I'm almost finished with the first one called "Blood Brothers". The third and final book will release in December 2008, and it's called "The Pagan Stone". I'm really looking forward to seeing how the trilogy will end.

Of course I can't forget about one of my favorite authors, Sherrilyn Kenyon. I just got finished reading "Dream Chaser" and "Devil May Cry". It goes without saying that these books were awesome reads. I adore her Dark-Hunters and just wish she could come up with more of them even faster then what she does! I still haven't got the chance to read Acheron yet, but I can hardly wait until it comes out in paperback.

If you can find the books by Kim Harrison (This Witch for Hire, and For a Few Demons More), they are pretty good too. About a ley-line witch with a darkened soul from dealing with demons, in love with a couple of vampires (1 male, 1 female), and works with a pixie, has an elf for a neighbor, etc. I think there are 4 or 5 books in the series, I don't have all of them yet, but the ones I've read are good. And Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake books are teh awesome (I have every one of them so far, in hardback, love the Science Fiction Book Club, which is where I got them all). Maggie Shayne also writes some good stuff, as does Christine Feehan (I have most of her Dark series, and a couple of her Mind Game set). And yeah, I definitely prefer the paranormal/supernatural romances over any other kind. Sherilynn Kenyon is another of my favorite authors, along with Susan Sizemore (can you tell I'm a bookworm?).

A person after my own heart! I just love Christine Feehan, Maggie Shayne, and really the others you listed too. It's hard to put the books down. Thanks for stopping by.

Oooh, you both love the same people I do!

There are some other Nora Roberts you may like, The 3 Sisters Island Trilogy about witches, The Key trilogy about Goddesses and the Circle trilogy with all manner of vampires, witches etc etc! She also wrote some books about faeries.

I also love, J.R Ward, Lynn Viehl, Kelley Armstrong, Rebecca York and Lori Handeland to name but a few.

Long live us bookworms!
